Mercedes-Benz makes owning one of their vehicles simple and easy. In an effort to simplify and streamline the process, Mercedes-Benz created a maintenance schedule based on modules. Known as the Flexible Service System, it is made of two parts called Service A and Service B. For ease of use and continuity, the manufacturer recommends that Mercedes-Benz owners time their intervals of the Flexible Service System so they line up with the Maintenance Service Indicator System.

Maintenance Service Indicator System Basics

The Maintenance Service Indicator System is designed to send you reminder alerts when the time to service your vehicle is about one month away. At that time, the alert system will start sending you countdown messages that detail the services that are needed as well as the days until it is due.

When the service date arrives, you’ll receive an alert that indicates that Service A is due. If you don’t bring in your vehicle for service, you’ll start to receive additional alerts reminding you that it’s past due. In addition, your Mercedes-Benz will alert you with a tone or signal once you’ve exceeded the time and mileage thresholds recommended by the factory.

Mercedes-Benz of Massapequa makes servicing your vehicle easy. Our service center is equipped with high-quality OEM auto parts and AES-trained technicians who use the latest in technology to maintain your vehicle and diagnose any issues.

Service A

Your Mercedes-Benz isn’t just any ordinary car and therefore requires more than just an ordinary service schedule. Here’s what you need to know.

According to recommendations outlined by Mercedes-Benz, the first Service A date should occur at one year or 10,000 miles. For the exact timing, the recommendations of the Flexible Service System should be adhered to.

Subsequent visits within the Schedule A maintenance plan should occur about every two years or 20,000 after the first one. In general, these recommendations apply to vehicles for model years 2009 and later.
